The Production Continues… – Week 7

This week I did not really do much besides filmed another the A-roll for Act 2. I like the system that I’m doing because it allows me to pace myself and not get overwhelmed. Separating the video into different Acts helps be stay organized with the video and lets the audience knows which point I’m talking about. Every production day, I plan to see which Act I’ll be filming for that day.

After I filmed the A-Roll for Act 2, I realized that it luckily doesn’t take me a long time to film each Act. My experience from reading scripts and having to say them on camera really helped me talk on camera with a lot of energy and confidence. When filming, I tried to make sure that I was looking at the camera instead of reading straight from the script.

The camera I decided to use was the Canon M50. The hardest part about trying to film the A-roll was making sure the lighting was good. The room that I planned to film in was a bit dark so I had to rent LED lights from the cage in order to make the room look brighter on camera.

I decided to record the audio on a Shure Condenser microphone that was connected to a TASCAM audio recorder. I found this to be the best microphone for the specific type of audio I was trying to capture.
