About The Film

The Smoking Gun is a short film made for a capstone school project. The idea was formed by Lewis Smith and co-directed by Brianna West. The idea was spawned from a combination of comic books, and detective tv shows. Combing the idea of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and the general paranormal came together to come up with the basis of the idea. Originally, it was supposed to be a paranormal investigator who helped ghost move on to the afterlife, the detective prospect of the story came from mainly the inspiration of Jessica Jones. The film follows our main protagonist on their quest to solve one last murder with their deceased lover. Having to solve the murder, and allow themselves to move on from each other, realizing that dealing with grief and letting you move on from your past can help you grow, and it is important to change.
