About

Taylor and her family: Thomas, Tana, Taylor, and Ty. ( Left to Right)

I was inspired to create this film about Taylor Macera because her story would encourage others. During her life, she has endured many health issues that most will never experience in their life. She was unfortunately stripped from the “normal” childhood lifestyle tradition. She spent many days inside of a hospital room, instead of a playground like most children. Despite this rollercoaster of health issues, she was always determined to make her story not the typical “woe is me” story. She made the best of her childhood and maintained that athletic spirit.

Taylor’s parents, Tana and Thomas Macera, have impacted her life in a great way. She is also the big sister to, Ty Macera. Her family has always been her big support system. At a young age she discovered that something was wrong with her health. After many doctors appointments and a diagnosis, her family was able to adapt to the new changes that needed to be made for a healthier life. It wasn’t easy for Taylor nor the family, but it was worth it. Her dad, Thomas, is a softball coach and her mom, Tana, is a nurse practitioner. This is what led to Taylor’s passion for sports and health.

Growing up, Taylor played softball which kept her going. This sport was like home to her as she found comfort in the game. There were times she had to hang her cleats up, but never for permanent. She always fought through her conditions to keep that fire alive for softball. She was an inspiration to many people if the softball world, as well as the community. Taylor wanted to be a Dr. since she was in speaking age. She knew the struggles she had growing up and wanted to be able to help people like the doctor’s helped her one day.

This documentary will be able to touch a large audience. This will help them understand that no matter what occurs in your life, maintain a good fight for the life you want.
