Now Let’s Gather B Roll
B roll was the easiest thing to gather. I was able to have access to a load of baby photos of Taylor. Her journey of her stickiness was well documented. I basically had a time line of every event she mentioned in the interview. I was able to even find videos of her from childhood that shows the fighter in her. She mentioned the time she threw a pitch. I was able to find that video to create a bond with the audience and the film.
That is really the goal of this film. So the audience understands who she is and know they too can fight like her. B roll isn’t just so people can see something different, but this is imitate footage that gives you the experience without being there. I didn’t just throw pictures on the timeline, I listened to what she said and found exactly what she was describing.
This weeks focus was to just get the b roll in the desired area on the timeline. I didn’t want anyone to watch this feeling like this was a rushed piece. I wanted their mind to be one Taylor. I wanted them to feel as if they were walking this journey out with her. That is why b roll was important this week. Combing through all of it made it possible foe me to tackle this week.
