Research

• This project is about a student who is entering their junior year of college and has been given the assignment of following around seniors as they do their final projects before graduating. This is to help raise the percentage of graduating students. The university to at risk of losing donors who donate millions to the school and its share of departments and need to raise morale.
• My audience is open to anyone. If you like shows like The Office, Parks & Rec, or Abbott Elementary, then this is for you. Its center is around the lower middle class and college students. They are relatable contexts that will look at the sore spots of college not highlight all the good that can go along with it.
• Some inspirations are the shows that I listed before. The main one is Abbott Elementary which is about a school and focuses on the struggles of the teachers and students. While they struggle, they (the teachers) have to put up with their unqualified boss who doesn’t make most situations better.
• Techniques to try and capture this feel have been angles. I’ve been experimenting with whom I want the camera to be. Whether that be the audience, a cameraperson, an observer on campus, etc., and how that can change the outlook of the project itself.

Production (Pre to Post)

• This week I’ve been studying the characters, determining what colors would fit them best and how their personalities could come across to the audience. For those who will be in this project, my main focus is scheduling. Taking into consideration of everyone’s lives and not wanting to over-bombard them or stress them out in wanting to do this with me.

Reflection

• My reflection of the week is not to be too quick in making things concrete immediately. The majority of the things that I have planned are set and aren’t up for negotiation otherwise the entire project would have to change but little things are okay. My main goal is not to be stressed and not stress out those working with me. Things will happen and solutions can be made.
