This week, we made more plans towards our pre-production documents. These documents helped to keep all of our ideas organized and to keep track of how much progress we\u2019ve made. I decided on a topic for the video essay: the growth of social media through the eyes of a 2000s baby. This topic is focused around the history of social media and how it affects the children who were not introduced to social media until mid-way through childhood. I want to include nostalgic moments to capture the emotion of the audience. The way I want to execute this is to add old snippets of commercials, show old toys, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An issue that I had previously was trying to figure out how to incorporate my technicality skills into a video that typically relies on graphics and stock footage. When thinking about this issue, I came across a documentary named \u201cThe Social Dilemma\u201d that creatively combined a narrative production along with the essay documentary. This is the approach I want to take. I want to combine a mixture of voice overs and historical graphics with a narrative storyline that goes along with the information of the video. I believe this will keep the audience engaged instead of losing their interest in a boring documentary. I will also be able to showcase my production skills by showcasing this storyline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This week, we made more plans towards our pre-production documents.
