Surprisingly, audio was not as seamless as I hoped or assumed it would be. First off, I forgot to turn down the shotgun mic for my interview with Coach Helfer, and there are a few instances where you can hear me or some white noise in the background. Luckily, it’s not too common, so all the answers are still usable, but it would have been better if I had fixed that. Additionally, the mic I used for my player interviews was not that powerful, and the players generally fidgeted and spoke kind of low.
To fix these issues, I had to do a couple of things. For Coach Helfer’s interview, I put the audio file into Adobe Audition and made sure it was all cleaned up where I could manage it. There were only about 2-3 instances where my voice was picked up during an answer, but otherwise I was able to clean everything else out. As for the player interviews, I just had to play around with the audio levels and find the level that best fit everyone. For example, Cam Hamilton spoke very quietly, so I had to boost his pretty good. Caden Boser, meanwhile, had a voice that projected, so his audio was pretty close to good. All around, after those tweaks, everything came out ok.
