My goal for capstone was wanting to complete a project that could bring people together using media. The first week of class, I discovered that two of my classmates had the same idea I did as to how we could bring people together using media. We wanted to create a sports podcast not only showcasing different professions of sports, but also talking to people about how they came to work in the field of sports. The target demographic for this would probably be 18-25 year olds, both men and women. My group mates and I all looked for examples of sports podcasts that were similar to what we wanted to do. Some of those examples were the Kelce brothers and Pat Mcafee.
One of the goals of capstone is to showcase our skills we have learned over the course of our time at VSU. I learned a lot of the skills I have from my sports workshop class, as did my group mates. We learned how to use the audio equipment to make podcast episodes for a show we did in sports workshop. Knowing how to use the audio equipment and editing it is the most crucial skill we could need to successfully create a podcast. We have the skills and are confident we will create something amazing with them.
