Week 4

planning process reflection (location scouting, blocking, etc.)

From the beginning when I decided that this was going to be the film I make, I knew bviously, I needed a space for the therapy scene. Actually, that first started out as group counseling so it wasn’t your typical one on one therapy so I thought, I needed a bigger room and I had shot a therapy scene before so that was the first scene in which I had a very concrete idea of where I would film it.

But then, I had to change it into a one on one therapy scene due to not having enough cast. Still, I thought it would still be okay to do it in the room I already had in mind but then I went looking for the place I would film the cafe scenes in and while looking, I found the perfect place to film the now- therapy scene. The library at the Honors College was so immensely perfect, it looked just like a building where you would actually go to therapy. At least I think, I’ve never actually been to therapy so! But I really liked it, I was very happy and didn’t need to go look anywhere else after that.

I also found my cafe at the Honors college so I killed two birds with one stone.

I also knew I wanted to film the recording booth scene in a… recording studio so I knew the right place was the studio in the mass media building.

Although, filming there was a bit rough at times, It was the place I had in mind and I’m happy we did the scenes in there.
