About Me

My name is Cynthia Stokes, and I am from a small town in South Georgia called Pelham. I am currently studying to get my Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media at Valdosta State University. Once I get my Bachelor’s degree, I want to work in sports broadcasting working alongside the production team to stream live footage of athletic events. While I’ve been in school, I’ve had the opportunity to work for the university’s Blazer Sports Media Production team. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to improve my skills in the different areas of sports broadcasting.

My Mission

After thinking long and hard about what I wanted to bring to the table through my capstone I concluded that I wanted to base my capstone around the topic of sports. For the past couple of years, sports media has become a big part of choosing what I wanted to do after I graduate from college. The best way I thought I could show what I learned from the past 4 years was to do a podcast about the work professions in the field of sports. This would allow me to show my skills in interviewing athletes and sports professionals in sports media. It would also allow me to show the audio, video, and editing skills I learned in the past 4 years. Therefore, my mission for this project is to show what I love about the world of sports and sports media through the lenses of people who work in those professions.
