Production Journal 5

This past week my group mates and I got together to put the final touches on our pre-production for HotTakePod. The last couple things we had to do was get some final paperwork from our talent and to get their availability for our shoots. Once we got their availability, we were able to make our production schedule for the rest of the semester. The schedule isn’t set in stone because our talent are in the athletic program so their schedules are subjected to change. Since this is a possibility, we made sure to give ourselves extra time to shoot just in case we had to reschedule a shoot.

Overall, the pre-production process went more smoothly than I thought it was going to go. Going into the pre-production we already knew what we wanted to contribute to this project, and we already had a good idea what we wanted to produce. After that everything seemed to fall into place. We found a place that already had most of the equipment we needed to film our podcast, therefore, the only thing we needed as for equipment was cameras, microphones, and a couple extra lights. We also already had a good idea of who we wanted to interview for our podcast. We have experience interviewing these athletes and coaches in the past and they are always happy to contribute to our projects, so it wasn’t hard to get them to agree to join us on our podcast. This podcast has some interesting takes to it, so I am excited to share our journey through our production phase as we make HotTakePod a reality.
