“People”

I’m not sure if this is going to happen.
Doubt isn’t what one expects to see from the beginning of a production journal. Consider this a prequel if you must, but there’s no sense in being dishonest. It doesn’t portray a good look so I’ll probably proceed with bluntness and transparency.
It might be too harsh to say that this won’t happen. This is my capstone and I HAVE TO GRADUATE. But “this” . . . I don’t know what “this” is.
This week Pre-Production is a Pre-pre-Production until a decision on direction can be reached. In my final semester I have the option to work with other creatives or do this project alone.
Respect is due to my collaborators, Seth and Fresco. I’ve known Seth since my first semester of college in 2018. He’s since become a talented videographer. Now that he’s getting accustomed to his equipment and production process he’s setting himself to become a beast of a shooter (Though I wish the music video space was kinder to him). I’ve grown a strong fondness for Fresco. I met him a few months ago in my production class. He’s not proficient in post-production but he has such an eagerness and drive. I doubt there’s much that Fresco isn’t capable of when he sets his mind to it. Plus, the irresistible optimism he musters around him always lifts my spirits.
The problem is that we each have differing ideas for this project. They aren’t completely incompatible. Fresco has an idea for a 3 episode internet show interviewing students and presenting uplifting themes. Seth was considering a documentary covering mental health of college students. My idea was 3-5 part anthology showcasing the deeper experience of college life.
There’s an intersection that uses the strengths of each idea and our respective strengths. I thought about the likelihood of my success in going on my own. But that’d just be running away from the storm. Cool things happen in chaos.
Fuck it.
This is going to happen.
This is Super Senior.
